On Tuesday 6/20  – PS Art 2017 had a ceremony to celebrate the work of student artists.  Twenty seven student artists (pre-K to 12th grade) had work selected to be shown on the big screen in Times Square.   There were speakers from the Department of Education, the MET , student artists and also the Times Square Advertising Coalition.
It was wonderful to see all the beautiful artwork on display. Shamier Johnson, a 5th grade student at P255@154, created a beautiful picture entitled “Four flowers”.
His art teacher, Ms.  Wendy was in the crowd to see his accomplishment on the big screen.  All work will be on display at the MET thru October.
