Have you seen all of the resources we have for our families? Stay up to date by going to the P255Q Parent Corner:
P255 @ 128 now has a new coordinator and she certainly is fitting in like she has always been here at this unit. Meghan Kozak has been spicing up things here at 128. She has put the “fun” in fundraising by having biweekly raffles that give our staff the chance to win gift cards. Everyone is more than excited to win a gift card to Target or Starbucks. It also gives us something to look forward to and helps us raise money for our students.
Meghan has also broke barriers here by helping open up the conversation with our general education school. She has met with 8th graders and spread some awareness to them about our population. So now when our students see each other, they give one another an appropriate greeting. In the past our students were less accepted by the general education population. It’s so wonderful to see our students being social and saying hello to students in the hallway. The school is now preparing to have a social skills group, where the eighth graders will come and buddy up with some of our students. This is a wonderful opportunity for both our students and the eighth graders. Not only is this program giving our stedents the opportunity for more socialization, it also gives the general education students more knowledge of our population. It’s a win win!!
We are loving our new coordinator and are looking forward to what will come next.
If school is open tomorrow, Principal Marowitz will get there! Winter is here.
Hope you had fun day looks like we are open tomorrow…
We hope you had a wonderful break! As we start this year, we look back at the fun we had across the sites to celebrate the winter season. Stay tuned for our photo gallery!
It was a truly magical night for students, families and staff at our first Winter Wonderland Dance. The photos speak for themselves!
Our talented speech teachers from PEC and 397 submitted some material (slightly late) that we weren’t able to include in the last Moment with Marowitz. Thanks to our producer/director Ms Bourn, we are able to bring you this special edition to MWM Productions. Enjoy!
The holiday spirit is in the air all over P255Q! The latest Moments with Marowitz is all about what we are all thankful for all across our units – check it out!
It’s been a busy November at the PS154 unit!
This year for our Election Day event the students of P255@154 voted for their favorite toy. They had a choice of a doll, train or Lego. They had the opportunity to play with the toys and then go into the private voting booth to vote. Check out the pictures below and see what toy won.
Also, check out sutdents Adam M. and Manuel P., who are part of our inclusive program with PS 154, singing their hearts out during the Select Choir rehearsal:
